The greatest thing about a career is that if you do something you love, then it simply does not feel like work.
If you have identified your purpose, written your personal goals, then you know exactly what you want to do in this world and who you want to be. Your career is simply how you are going to express it.
Step one is to make sure that you are in the field that you want to be in. If you are not, there are a couple of reasons.
First, you are young, and or not quite ready to move into the field you wish to work in.
If this is the case then we need to set some goals for your current workplace. Do you want to be a leader? How can we set a goal for that? Do you want to grow your knowledge? How do we write goals for that? Do you want to slowly save up or slowly start your own business, set a goal for it.
If you are in the field that you know you can express your best self in, then your goals will be different. What do you define as your current role? What do you want your role to look like? Goal for it? What new innovation do you want to bring in? What do you want your title to be? What clientele do you want to attract? What do you want to be known for? Do you want to create a new position? Do you want to be a boss? Do you want to manage more people or change your relationship with your manager?
Are there things outside of work you want to be involved with? Investments? Other businesses? Multi-Level marketing? Anything you want to be involved with to increase your influence on the world and your income.
This section is a lot of fun. You simply get to decide what you want your career to look like and then write a goal for it. Be specific! Set action steps! Give yourself a deadline! And make sure you know why you want to accomplish it!
The only other piece of advice I would share on professional goals is remember that later we will be doing our prosperity goals, and it is the goals that you write in this section that will get you there.
