Yearly Goals Due Oct 1: Start with Purpose

If it takes your brain 90 days to program your subconscious, then you must have your goals written down by October 1st of every year for the next year.

Over the next couple of weeks I will walk you through getting all your goals done and written in a way that you can achieve them.

You must start with Purpose.

Purpose explains why you get up in the morning. Purpose is what you want to accomplish in this life, what you want to be remembered for, and what makes you special. It is the goal that will take you the longest to write and will keep getting better over the years as you work on it.

If your propose is written correctly then every goal you write will simply move you closer to your purpose. As a matter of fact, typically the reason people don’t accomplish certain goals is because the goal does not move them towards their purpose.

My purpose is to inspire, empower, and lead as many people as possible towards a healthier, happier, and more fulfilled life.

You can see how this accounts for every aspect of my life. My family, my work, myself. Your purpose is all encompassing of your life.

So how do you get there?

Follow these steps and if you need help feel free to email me DrCorey@Palmercare.com.

Here are some questions to ask yourself?

When you were young, elementary, middle, high school, what did you want to be when you grew up and why?

This starts to tell you what you want to contribute to the world.

What is one person you look up to?

What three characteristics do you love about hem? Confidence, Knowledge, etc.

A famous person you look up to, three characteristics?

Three characteristics you love about your mom and or dad?

Last, three characteristics you love about yourself and three you think you could do better at?

Once you have a list, select three or four of your favorite characteristics and start putting them into a sentence.

My purpose is to use my ________, __________, and______________ (characteristics you circled) to _________________________ (what do you want your contribution to the world to be?)

Example: My purpose is to use my energy, happiness, and knowledge to be a contagious source of positive thoughts and continual growth for myself and others.

If you get completely stuck you can go to http://www.nightingale.com/personal-mission-statement/and it will give you a mission statement that you can start cutting down to a sentence.

This is the most important goal you will write, so spend some time on it, use resources like looking at other purpose statements online, and get something written down that you love.
